Once you begin to get serious about your game, it is hard to transfer playing from the ivory balls to the composition balls. You get use to shots being a certain way with the ways the ball is made.

The fabric of the table is hard-wearing. It is material that is hard to cut with, with scissors and these tables are meant to last for years. Most tables are finished with this type of fabric. You have the napless tables, which is a cheaper fabric that composition balls are played on.

You want the cushions to be just right. This is the edging around the table where the ball bounces off.
