Eagle Followers Wonder Whether Or Not Vick Starting Is Permanent

Last year, the National Football League was embroiled in controversy, as Michael Vick was employed as a quarterback after spending time in prison. There was a lot of conflict when he was employed once again. The Philadelphia Eagles took flak from fans, and not to mention PETA. In fairness, he was rather rusty. He hadn’t taken a snap in over two years. The first year back, he did not do much. He never saw more than a series or two at most. The starting quarterback, Kolb, was injured in a game against the Green Bay Packers. Vick nearly pulled off a victory. Depending on how well Vick does within the role, he may end up becoming the starter permanently. Article source – Eagle fans wonder whether Michael Vick starting is permanent by Newystype.com.

Narrow defeat by Green Bay

The new season for the NFL has just kicked off. The first game for the Eagles was against the Green Bay Packers. Two players had to leave the game with concussions. Kevin Kolb, the quarterback, and Stewart Bradley, a linebacker. In 2009, Vick had barely played a series and was put within the game. Vick put on an amazing performance, as he almost pulled off an upset victory over the Packers. Vick threw 175 yards, going 16 for 24, with one touchdown against a team that is already slated to be a top pick to the Super Bowl. According to ESPN, Kolb and Bradley haven’t passed a function test after concussion, so Vick will start towards the Lions.

Who does not want to visit Detroit?

In the absence of Kolb, Michael Vick could be the starter towards the Detroit Lions. His future in the role might hinge on his performance. Should Vick do well, Eagles coach Andy Reid may have to choose between his two quarterbacks. There are few quarterbacks that move the way Vick does. He doesn’t just hang back and toss passes, he can scramble and evade tacklers nimbly, and find other spots to pass from. Teams with a West Coast style offense, like Philadelphia, are far more dangerous with a running quarterback that can also connect well with receivers; just check out what Steve Young did with San Francisco.

Lions await

This is basically speculation. All speculation is, well, speculative. Detroit is going to be desperate this year. If they have a chance to beat everyone, they will make an effort to do it. If Vick is back to Pro Bowl quality, then he may really well become the brand new starter.
