Network Marketing Strategy – 5 Steps To Realizing Your Goals
How often do you write your goals, revisit, or evaluate your goals? So obviously I am not the first person to point out to you that you need goals and a vision to succeed. It dates back to the Bible in Proverbs stating “where there is no vision, the people perish…” Now we can’t take that term perish literally, since without a goal you won’t die in the physical sense, however, I have witnessed this in people who have lost vision, have given up on dreams, seem to go through life like the walking dead. You probably arrived here because you are looking for a network marketing strategy, something to propel your business forward. The information I am sharing with you will change your business, IF, you take it seriously and do the work. If you follow this process faithfully, you can’t help but attract to your life everything you want.
It is outrageous the number of people who either don’t have clear defined goals, or are resistant to writing their goals on paper. I have heard a multitude of excuses for not taking this very important step in creating success. The most common response I’ve heard is “but if I commit something to paper and don’t accomplish it, I will feel like a failure.” Reality is, if you set a goal and fall short, at least you’ve made progress, whereas, if you don’t commit to something you will keep going around the same old mountain and eventually fall. What I am sharing is not only a network marketing strategy for goals, but it can be used by anyone in any business.
Here Is My Five Step Network Marketing Strategy For Achieving Your Goals:
1. Establish Your Why. Your why is your motivation. It must be so motivating that it causes you to take action. Begin by asking, when I have completed this goal, how will it affect me? Also ask yourself, how will I be affected if I don’t achieve it? Often people don’t like to look at the alternative of not reaching a goal, however, if the impact of you not reaching it won’t make a big difference in your life, then your why isn’t strong enough. Personally, my first goal in business was to replace my job, and the idea of failing, waking up to an alarm clock and working for somebody else’s profits, was a result I could not live with. When you write your why, make sure to list several reasons that support your desire to reach the goal. If you find it difficult to find ten to twenty supporting reasons, you need a different goal.
2. Write your goals down in present tense with a date for completion. For instance you might write, I make $5,000 each week by January 1, 2012. When you write your goal using phrases like I am, I make, I do, it affects how you believe and view yourself. By writing a goal as if it has been completed, it causes the subconscious mind to align dreams with reality. It then allows your mind to focus on the how questions, rather than the if questions. Your mind will naturally begin to gravitate towards solving problems, rather than focusing on the problem. It is much like programming positive thinking, since your thoughts believe you are already successful, you will take the right action, because your thoughts set your course.
3. Create a vision board. It is not enough to sit around and visualize or daydream about achieving your goals. You need a constant reminder. Let me share with you an example of one of my goals that I achieved. The business I work with offered a President’s Club vacation to the Galapagos Islands. I was estatic, as this was one of my top five dream vacations. Immediately I did an online search of all the wonderful things we could do and see while there. My vision board was created, and displayed where it would be in my sight at all times while working. Since this vision board was in plain sight, it caused my actions to follow the vision. The next step was planning the how and what, so I changed the 12 month goal to a 10 month goal, and determined what we needed to produce each month, then each week, so on and so forth. The goal was met, and better yet, as a result of what I call laser beam focus, we had our highest income year at that time and earned two top ten positions!
4. Write your goals daily. This doesn’t have to be a detailed daily project, but more of a daily list of goal items, written in present tense, with date for completion. This is again about aligning your subconscious mind with what you want to bring to reality. Too often people will go through a goal setting process, and then never look at them again until they have a challenge. If you truly want to set the course for your dreams and action, you need to write them down every day faithfully.
5. Develop your plan. Now that you know what you want, you need to break it down into bite size chunks. Planning is the step where you map your daily activities based on breaking down the year’s goals to months, weeks, then days. You can reference a detailed article I wrote on Network Marketing System For Goals -Breaking It Down To The Ridiculous, which teaches you exactly how to do this. Work your plan.
Make a decision today to follow the five steps network marketing strategy to realizing your goals. Commit to sticking with it for at least two months before checking your scoreboard and making changes. By being disciplined in the process, you should notice a significant difference in your productivity. You’ll also find that you have developed a good habit contributing to your overall success. The major difference between dreams and goals, is dreams are ideas that never leave the safety of our mind, where goals are simply dreams committed to paper, supported by a plan to reach them.
