Wild Life In Rajasthan
India is an enchanting land and it is blessed with rich flora and fauna. The different parts of India has got different variety of animals and wide species of birds. Bharatpur National park: This place is called the ornithologists paradise and also called the Keoladeo Ghana National Park. Renowned for various species of birds and specially Siberian Cranes. Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is situated in the north western part of Rajasthan. It is the only man made wild life sanctuary in India. The most commonly spotted birds in Bharatpur are Cranes, Ducks, Eagles, Pipits, Hawks, Flycatchers, Larks, Cormorants, Painted storks to name a few and lots of Jacanas and Moorhens can be found in the water surface of the park.
Ranthambore National Park : This national park is also in the state of Rajasthan famous for tiger and leopard. Observing the activities of the tiger is really a life time achievement. Other animals that can be spotted here are jackel, hyena, jungle cats, sloth bear, Chita, Chinkara, Sambhar, deer, Langur and to name a few more. It is an ideal spot for the photographer and satisfying place for the wild life enthusiast.
Sariska Wild life Sanctuary : It is one of the most visited park in India situated in Alwar of Rajasthan. It is a home to many carnivorous animals like loepard, Jungle cat, Hyena, Jackel, tiger, sambar, Nilgai, Chital and Langur. Sariska is famous for Rhesus Monkeys. Beside these a rich bird life can be viewed in Sariska.
Desert National Park Jaisalmer : Desert National park of Jaisalmer is probably the largest park of India. It reflects desert flora and fauna and eco system of the Thar Desert. The 20% of the park is covered by sans dunes and there are three lakes in the park which are main source of water in the park. Except the wild life like Blackbuck, Chinkara, Desert fox, Bengal Fox, Indian Wolf, Desert Cat, Hare, etc this park is a home to a variety of birds. One of the most unique birds the Great Indian Bustard can be seen in this park.
Other than these the state has sanctuaries like – Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary, Udaipur, – 50 km south of Udaipur is small but a rich home of birds. The picturesque scenery of the park is wonderful, set amidst back ground of Aravalli. Birds that you can spot here are – Darters, Open-bill Storks, Pond Herons, Little Cormorants, Indian Shags, Egrets, Eagles, Buzzards, Painted Partridges, Babblers, Hawks, Falcons, Dalmatian Pelicans and a wide variety of Ducks, including Pintails, Teals, Mallards and Shovelers. The birds here share the space with Sloth Bears, Leopards, Chitals, Chinkaras, Wild Boars and Crocodiles. Jaisamand Wildlife Sanctuary, Udaipur is must visit spot during your trip to Rajasthan because of its lanscape.
